Travel and live the Textile Passion Experience

Experience making a textile on a backstrap loom in Chiapas! A 6-day immersion trip on one of the routes of our beloved San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas. A route that will be full of color, texture, history, emotion, textile awareness and a lot of heart.

In this experience, each participant will know and experience every detail of this ancestral technique, from the creation of the thread and natural pigments, to the narrative and symbolism that are represented in the fabrics, as well as the impact of a Chiapas textile in the world.

Our travel itinerary!

We will travel by plane from Mexico City and begin this experience with a delicious welcome brunch to settle in the beautiful city of San Cristóbal. Here we will take a walking tour through the colorful streets of the place and have an introduction to the history of the textile world.

Days 2 and 3 will consist of living together and awakening our senses with the textile dyeing workshops with natural pigments and backstrap looms that will be held in the Aldama communities in the Los Altos area, Chiapas. Two days of exchange and learning experiences that will take us beyond our imagination, as we get to know first-hand the step by step of this beautiful craft directly from the voice and hands of its creators.

On the 4th and 5th day we will learn about the reality facing the textile trade industry today, through visits to collective shops, boutiques and presentations by experts on the subject. We will close this cultural tour with a visit to the store of one of the most recognized designers worldwide, Alberto López Gómez.

Finally, on the 6th day, we will be able to quietly enjoy this beautiful city and close our experience with a distinguished and elegant gala dinner.
